nayook (nirim baluk) is a stranger and storyteller that lives on the lands that her ancestors killed for, and works on the land that her ancestors died for. Her role is not to comfort, nor to entertain, but to be held in place for a time a mutually created here and now.
Her work is inextricable from her cultural, social, and personal identities, which make themselves known through context and through presentation.
A curriculum vitae should go here, but is having some trouble existing right now.
A note on pronouns: while the Big Three (she, he, they) may be applied interchangeably to the person I am, for peace of mind I use she/her in bios. It just doesn’t get flagged by editors as much. Shifting is, for now at least, an in-person practice.
